As of last week, major piling work has been finalized, and at the Obigbo/Aba Express flyover, only the bridge columns remain to be completed. Multiple teams are actively engaged in different sections of the project. For example, at Km 30, workers are focused on constructing U-Channels near Eleme Motor Park, while at Km 50, Flyover 5 is nearing completion.

Site Manager Mike Andra expressed confidence that the project will be completed ahead of schedule, despite frequent rainfall in the region. He emphasized that the company is collaborating closely with local communities and their liaison officers to ensure smooth progress.

At the project's inauguration on July 17, 2023, Julius Berger’s Managing Director, Engr. Dr. Lars Richter, highlighted the road’s importance in connecting communities and fostering regional development. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the project's potential to enhance accessibility and create new opportunities for the affected communities.

Governor Fubara called on community leaders and residents to cooperate fully with the project and assured that compensation would be provided for those impacted.
