Minister of State for Housing Leads Nigeria’s Delegation to the Africa Urban Forum in Addis Ababa

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, led Nigeria's delegation from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to the Africa Urban Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The forum, themed “Sustainable Urbanization for Africa’s Transformation,” gathered African leaders, stakeholders, and experts to discuss innovative approaches for sustainable urban development across the continent.

During his interactions at the event, the Minister reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to addressing urbanization challenges, sharing updates on the Ministry’s ongoing efforts. “Our priorities include providing affordable housing, enhancing urban planning, and improving the livability of our cities,” he noted, underlining Nigeria’s proactive stance on these issues. The Minister’s involvement underscores Nigeria’s dedication to collaborating with both regional and global partners in achieving sustainable urban development and inclusive housing.

The forum served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking among African nations, fostering a pathway toward a more sustainable and prosperous future. “This gathering solidifies our collective vision for a thriving and sustainable Africa,” Gwarzo commented. The Africa Urban Forum not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also reinforced partnerships, laying the groundwork for joint efforts to transform urban spaces across Africa.
