Dangiwa launces Builders Disciplinary Tribunal to Enforce Standards in Nigeria’s Construction Industry

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has officially launched the Builders Disciplinary Tribunal.

This significant event took place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in Abuja.

During his inaugural address, the Minister emphasized the importance of the Tribunal in fostering accountability within Nigeria’s building sector. He remarked, “I have always believed that creating structures, systems, and procedures to uphold professional standards and ethics is essential.”

Minister Dangiwa encouraged the Tribunal members to uphold the values of trust and credibility within the building profession, stressing the importance of handling disciplinary matters with integrity, fairness, and transparency.

Accepting the appointment, Tribunal Chairman Bldr. Dr. Samson Ameh Opaluwah expressed gratitude to the Minister for establishing the Tribunal, noting it as a testament to the Federal Government's commitment to enhancing professionalism and regulation in the building industry. Dr. Opaluwah assured the Minister of the Tribunal's commitment to holding registered builders accountable and ensuring adherence to industry standards.

He also reaffirmed the willingness of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) to collaborate with the Ministry in promoting safety and sustainability in the construction and built environment.
